ALHAMBRA, Ca. --
Aska Eyewear / Nu-Clip are launching the Aska
9000 series to optical industry, with an
emphasis on ECPs.
Aska 9000 collection
features a proprietary screw-less hinge design
that functions like a spring hinge.

Nu-Clip’s
Aska 9000 series has just won a U.S.
patent for its unique mounting system.
The lightweight clips are available in a
range of colors. |

The unique wire
lens mounting system enable opticians to use any
lens material. The use of surgical grade
stainless steel with ion-plating process allows
Aska 9000 to achieve ultra light weight and be
able to withstand any type of extreme climate in
maintaining its colors.
The series has
just received a U.S. patent; patents are
pending in Europe, and many countries in Asia,
according to Paul Chen, NuClip’s vice president
of marketing.
Said Chen, “The
‘wire’lens mounting system enables opticians to
recover their mistake if they cutthe lens too
small or groove the lens too deep, by changing
the length of the wire. Unlike most other
competitors who must use polycarbonate lenses,
Aska collection can use anymaterial of lenses
without worrying about chipping the lenses. It
also features a propriatary hinge design that
function like a spring hinge without any screw.”
Styles within the
Aska 9000 Series are priced $79 to the
dispenser. The company is launching 16
ophthalmic models, in four colors each, during
Vision Expo West and the company is targeting
higher-end optical stores and ECP practices.
